Donna Ross
Donna Ross is an international ADR practitioner specialising in corporate and commercial disputes both domestically and internationally with exceptional expertise in appropriate dispute resolution (ADR).
She is the principal of Donna Ross Dispute Resolution and Director of Ross ADR Pte. Ltd., her new venture in Singapore. Qualified in both civil and common law, Donna has acted as arbitrator, mediator, negotiator and advocate in high-value and complex disputes relating to cross-border deals, private equity, technology, telecommunications, construction, partnership and shareholder import, licensing, distribution agreements, retail leasing, and the wine industry.
Donna regularly assists parties with contract negotiations with a focus on preventing and resolving disputes in a cost-effective and commercial manner with a focus on drafting proper dispute resolution clauses. Donna is admitted in New York and Australia and holds a French civil law degree. She has a broad-based professional background in business and technology and multicultural experience having worked in jurisdictions across the globe including the US, France and Australia, and can conduct proceedings in French, Spanish and Italian. She is a panel member of leading institutions including APCAM, AIAC, and WIPO, ACICA, Resolution Institute and provides ADR services to the courts. Donna is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), Fellow and graded arbitrator of Resolution Institute (FRI), and Fellow of ACICA (FACICA).
She sits on the advisory board of Arbitral Women and is the editorial consultant of the Australasian Dispute Resolution Journal. She sits on the Resolution Institute’s National Determinative and DE & I Committees and chaired the Victorian Arbitration Committee for some five years, and is a member of International Mediation Institute (IMI) QAP Appraisal Committee and Arbitration Victoria. She has been recognised as a finalist for the Australian Law Awards 2023 as arbitrator/mediator, was named Australasian Arbitrator of the Year in 2020 and most Influential Lawyer in 2021. She is also an Accredited Specialist in Mediation Law has been consistently recognised as a leading mediator by Doyle’s Guide since 2018. An active supporter of ADR, Donna also teaches arbitration, mediation and negotiation as a member of the faculty of CIArb, a lecturer in dispute resolution at La Trobe Law School and a CPD Provider for Leo Cussen Centre for Law and Legalwise. She is a frequent speaker at ADR events and coach and judge in competitions.
